Summary/Abstract: Health potential is a crucial aspect of every family's functioning. The family, as the fundamental social unit is the first place for upbringing and a health care education. It also shapes social trust in healthcare systems and attitudes towards various treatment methods and therapeutic choices. Currently, we observe a global surge in the popularity of traditional healing methods. Many families perceive a holistic approach to health as an effective way to restore and maintain well health potential. This article explores the role of the family in building health potential and presents the current status of traditional healing methods within the International Classification of Diseases (ICD). It also addresses the direction of research on the application of traditional healing methods within Polish families.
