Summary/Abstract: The “George Enescu” National Museum in Bucharest holds four documents - letters exchanged between composers George Enescu and Sabin Drăgoi - dated 1932 and 1942 - that have been appraised and classified under the legal category of “Treasures of the National Movable Cultural Heritage.” Unique in their kind, the letters attest to a human relationship based on friendship and genuine professional respect through their content. Although not previously unpublished—since the correspondence was published by musicologist Viorel Cosma in the first volume of George Enescu’s Letters² while they were part of the Drăgoi family archive—this collection of letters (now integrated into the institution’s heritage, among its treasured documents) deserves to be better known. Consequently, the typed presentation of the letters’ text will facilitate their reading; the image of the document will illustrate Enescu’s handwriting with all its distinctive features; and the brief information regarding the music topics addressed will connect these cultural artifacts to significant moments in the history of Romanian music, providing context.
