„…NOW EVERYONE PLAYS COMPUTER GAMES“

Summary/Abstract: How are the symptoms of adolescents affected by the times in which they live? What does the symptom "gaming addiction" organize in the mental structure and how does the adolescent use it? We will reflect on the question of what this symptom hides and what it reveals of the truth about the married couple by referring to texts by Jacques Lacan and Alain Vanier. Can the symptom "addiction to games" show us the place of specific maternal absence that the child is trying to fill? Clinical guidelines for mental structuring will be elicited by presenting clinical vignettes from psychoanalytic work with boys in early adolescence. The psychopathological hypotheses that can be investigated are different, although the observed behavior is very often similar.
