Summary/Abstract: The author of the article aims to reveal the essence of the music contained in the Concerto for violin and orchestra “Moments” by Ghenadie Ciobanu by analyzing one of its facets with an emphasis on the musicalized narratological discourse from the perspective of the personification of the solo instrument. In order to form a broader vision of the specificity of this creation within contemporary national music, the text follows a chronologically directed route towards this characteristic form of performance. In this sense, a review, supported by some notional clarifications, is made in the form of a synthesis of some historical and contextual landmarks in which the concert repertoire developed with the violin in the foreground. The specific analyzes of Gh. Ciobanu’s Concerto are focused on the narrative levels and qualities of the sound events, having an individualized intonation, which can be found in the opus brought up for discussion. The emphasis of the personified discursive messages of the soloist in symbiosis with the orchestral ensemble, organized in a unitary artistic conception, provides arguments for revealing the expressive and emotional potential of violin music, able to generate deep reverberations of a psycho-emotional nature and projected into the complex world of affective states and experiences.
