Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author examines the impact of gender on unemployment duration across different levels of education and age groups, with particular attention to changes observed during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. The study aims to test the hypothesis that unemployed women are more susceptible to long-term unemployment than men and that this effect intensifies over time. The analysis is based on data published by the Statistics Poland on registered unemployment for 2019 and 2020. To model this relationship, the author employs the cumulative logit model without the proportional odds assumption, allowing for the analysis of variations in the cumulative odds ratio of exiting unemployment between women and men across different unemployment duration thresholds.
