Summary/Abstract: Population ageing and the dynamic increase in the number of older adults represent one of the key socio-economic challenges of the 21st century, generating growing pressure on health and social care systems. This article presents the role of artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool supporting modern care for the elderly, with particular emphasis on its benefits, challenges, and ethical aspects. A descriptive synthesis of scientific literature, strategic reports, and case studies of AI implementations in elderly care was conducted. The findings indicate that AI technologies — such as monitoring systems, virtual assistants, chatbots, personalized health recommendations, and care robots — can enhance the independence, safety, and quality of life of seniors, as well as optimize the work of caregivers. At the same time, the implementation of AI involves challenges related to technology acceptance among older adults and their environment, the need to develop digital competencies, and the resolution of ethical dilemmas concerning autonomy, privacy, and equitable access to innovation. The article highlights the necessity of an interdisciplinary approach and the development of new ethical frameworks in the context of geriatric care.
