Summary/Abstract: The article examines the topic of private libraries in the Ivan Vazov Public Library – Plovdiv in their role as a part of special library collections. The specific circumstances surrounding acquisition, registration, organization, disclosure, use and preservation of these collections are examined in the context of the changing understanding of their unique place in the overall library collection.
