Summary/Abstract: The article presents the fundamental role played by Constantin Daicoviciu in the development of museography and archaeological research in Transylvania and Banat during the interwar period and the difficult years of World War II. He formed a strong school of archaeology, with disciples such as Ion Berciu, Octavian Floca and Marius Moga, who became leaders of regional museums and promoters of historical research. Under Daicoviciu's coordination and with the support of the Commission for Historical Monuments, major archaeological excavations were carried out and important museums were founded or modernised in cities such as Cluj, Deva, Timișoara and Alba Iulia. Despite the difficulties brought about by the war, there were remarkable efforts to preserve and reorganise the heritage. The detailed example of Marius Moga's work in Timișoara shows his dedication and professionalism in saving and exhibiting archaeological materials. At the same time, local and central authorities supported museum projects, understanding their cultural and identity importance. Thus, although marked by hardship, this period represented a significant leap forward in Romanian museography.
