Summary/Abstract: The appearance of movable type, in the mid-15th century, allowed the multiplication of output of books at a more rapid pace than the necessary time to copy them in medieval scriptoria. A direct consequence was increasing print runs and, thus, books circulated in diverse geographical areas, often quite far away from the locations where they were printed. Such a case is that of a colligatum, printed in Cluj, Transylvania, in the 16th century (1571-1572). The texts printed by Heltai Gáspár represent editions, in Hungarian and Latin, of the juridical work of Werbőczy István, that served as the constitutional basis in Hungary and Transylvania in the 16th and 17th centuries. The fate of the colligatum made this to travel, after printing, and to reach, in 1753 the Jesuits from Skalica (current Slovakia), and then, to return to Transylvania, in Zalău (current Romania).
