Summary/Abstract: This study discusses the urban development projects undertaken for the Mureș region, particularly focusing on the creation of a new urban center in Alba Iulia – The Coronation Square as well as modifications made to the Mihai Viteazul High School to serve as the administrative palace of the Mureş Region. These efforts were part of a larger effort of developing Alba Iulia as the administrative centre of the Mureş region and also as the symbolic capital of Romania.
