FIRES IN ROLLING RAILWAY STOCK AND PREVENTION

Summary/Abstract: The article examines fires that occurred in rolling stock for the years 2021 - 2024. The causes that led to them are analyzed and specific measures are proposed to prevent them. Some of the measures include cutting-edge fire detection and fire extinguishing systems in rolling stock with an emphasis on locomotives. The measures proposed in the report will lead to a significantly smaller number of fires and will improve safety in railway transport. In order to increase safety when operating rolling stock, it is advisable to install aerosol-type automatic fire extinguishing systems in locomotives of series 44 and 45.
