Summary/Abstract: The article contributes to the project of “postsecular history.” It conceptualizes the“postsecular regime of historicity,” a category that examines how the forms andfunctions of historical consciousness transform in relation to the broadly understoodreturn of religion, including spirituality and theology, and its renewed visibility in thepublic sphere. This idea evolves in the context of the “Slavic turn,” a contemporary, yetlong-established, phenomenon of fascination with early, pre-Christian Slavdom. Thecase study focuses on selected interpretive practices of Tomasz J. Kosiński, an authorsometimes associated with the movement known as “Turboslavs” or “Turbolechites.”Kosiński’s approach, particularly his “magical etymologies,” consistently undermines thenormative foundations and structures of the secular regime of historicity, characteristicof modern thinking.
