Summary/Abstract: The paper is an overview of rules for proper use of words in some religious traditions. The paper canserve as a review of the standpoints of various codes of conduct in regard to ethical and non-ethicalverbal behaviours in Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism and Christianity. The purpose of such a collectionof religious speech ethics is to compare them and extract moral dimension of language.
