Artificial intelligence in Polish in the light of corpus research

Summary/Abstract: The article aims present a linguistic picture of artificial intelligence based on material extracted fromlanguage corpora: the PWN Polish Language Corpus and the National Corpus of the Polish Language.These corpora contain publications released between 1920-2011. An analysis of the stylistic means usedin journalistic and popular science texts indicates how their authors have responded to the challengesand threats associated with the development of modern technologies. The type of publication has animpact on the choice of vocabulary and collocations occurring with the expression artificial intelligence.The article also describes the dualistic perception of this technology.
