Summary/Abstract: This study aims to trace the evolution of the Karaite daily prayer from its original Hebrew and Jewishform to a Turkic and Christian version in the first half of the twentieth century in Eastern Europe.Using liturgical sources, the spiritual and religious leaders of the Karaite community, who strictlyadhere to the Hebrew Bible, aimed to redirect Karaite worship from traditional Hebrew prayers tothe newly revised ones. These prayers integrate the withering Turkic language of the Karaites andeven include the Lord’s Prayer. The study of this innovative adaptation is intended to shed light onthe process of de-Judaisation within the Karaite community.
