Summary/Abstract: The present paper analyses the text of The Litany of St. Andrew Bobola within the frameworkof genre theory and pragmatics. The following four profiles of Andrew Bobola are identified: a piouspriest, a pastor (the apostle of Polesie), a martyr, and the patron of Poland. They are illustrated withthe facts of the Saint’s life and the history of worship.
