Summary/Abstract: Drawing on numerous sources, the article reconstructs the life and activities of Elena Trejiene, a seamstress who lived in Kaunas during the interwar period and was regarded as a fashion authority. Until now, this personality has not received much attention. The article provides her biography, identifies the location of her sewing shop, sheds light on the Parisian side of Kaunas, and discusses the difficult competitive conditions in which the famous modiste not only found her professional area but also attracted clients from the highest strata of society.
