Summary/Abstract: On the territory of the eastern part of the former Roman Province of Dalmatia, eight votive monuments featuring the deity Jupiter have been preserved to date. These monuments mainly feature Jupiter’s cult congregations, with only one of them displaying Jupiter and Liber, next to each other and jointly included in the cult congregation of the god Terminus. In the eight monuments, Jupiter is widely referred to by means of the IOM letter designation. But in a single case, the deity occurs with no attributes whatsoever. The number of such cases in the independent Jupiter cult testifies to the incomplete Romanisation and replacement of the previous native supreme deity with the god Jupiter. The devotees of the Jupiter cult congregations were members of the upper civil class with either temporary or permanent residence in these areas.
