Summary/Abstract: The subject of commentary is the angels Gabriel, Michael, Azrael, Israfil. Many other angels also have names, the most famous of which are Marut and Harut – fallen angels, Malik (guardian of hell), Ridwan (guardian of paradise), the honorable recorders Atid and Rakib, etc. Their depictions in the Arab, Persian and Ottoman miniature traditions are examined. In conclusion, it is summarized that Muslim mini-aturists have created a gallery of images of angels who are intermediaries between Allah, the prophets and people. It is especially emphasized that Islamic miniature is characterized by an introverted character and is by its nature an elitist art.
