Summary/Abstract: In the last two decades or so, a large number of primary sources concerning medieval Transylvania have become available. This is due, on the one hand, to a series of archival digitization projects, and on the other, to the gradual opening of archival repositories to the public. As a result, we are currently witnessing both technological progress and a societal shift that enable greater access to historical documents. This study aims to highlight a set of unknown or little-known sources concerning provincial art (15th–17th c.) and, where possible, to correlate them with artworks or other forms of visual evidence.
