Summary/Abstract: This study explores the historical, cultural, artistic, and spiritual significance of the churches in Staro and Mlado Nagoričane through extensive archival research. Drawing upon early scholarly literature and documents preserved in major archives and conservation centers in Sofia and Skopje, it reconstructs the evolution, perception, and preservation of these monuments from the early 20th century until the present. By integrating written, photographic, and conservation records, the research reveals how these churches embody collective memory and cultural continuity. The study highlights the indispensable role of archives in safeguarding heritage and reaffirms preservation as both a scholarly responsibility and a moral commitment to history.
