Summary/Abstract: The article reports on an international conference titled Rok 1945 v globálním kontextu, held in November 2025 at the Lichtenstein Palace in Prague and organized by the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes. It highlights the aim of the event: to reassess the end of World War II from a global, not merely national or European, perspective, reflecting diverse international interpretations of liberation and subsequent political developments. Over three days, 51 speakers presented across eight thematic blocks and four panel discussions, including representatives from multiple countries and institutions. The program featured contributions addressing propaganda, historical memory, the roots of the Cold War, Soviet repression, and the crisis of the occupation regime in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The document concludes by noting selected major papers that explored both international and Czech historical contexts.
