Summary/Abstract: The relationship between the Qur’an and contemporary science can is here seen through three interrelated perspectives: axiomatic, ontological, and theological. The axiomatic perspective approaches Qur’anic verses as principles whose implications may be compared with modern scientific models. The ontological perspective examines the origin of Qur’anic discourse and the ways in which its precision and multilayered structure point to a divine rather than human source. The theological perspective emphasizes the Qur’anic understanding of God and the continuity of previous revelations. Through examples such as the expansion of the universe, the darkness of the deep ocean and the wave-like nature of light, the movement of the Sun, the life cycle of stars, and the existence of subatomic particles, it is shown that certain Qur’anic statements can be related to the findings of con- temporary science, while noting that historical interpretations of verses were always constrained by the knowledge available at the time. This perspective opens up a space in which the Quran can serve both as an inspiration for scientific research, but also as a reinforcer of belief as its descriptions align with experimental evidence.
