Summary/Abstract: This paper presents several observations concerning the Bosnian-Herzegovinian pir (spiritual master) of the Naqshbandi ṭarīqa, Shaykh Huseyin Baba Zukić, with a focus on the period he spent under Shaykh Mehmed Hisari, the leader of the Muradiyya Tekke (Murâd-ı Buhârî Tekkesi) in Istanbul during the second half of the 18th century. Through biographical data on the shaykhs of this silsila (chain), as well as through recorded descriptions of these two figures, the study seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the enigmatic personality of Shaykh Huseyin Baba, after whom the Naqshbandi order in Bosnia and Herzegovina developed its branch known as Huseyini. Furthermore, the paper presents some new facts and observations concerning Shaykh Arif Sidki from the second half of the 19th century, a Huseyini shaykh, and the potential spread of this branch in Istanbul. Since the activities of the Muradiyya Tekke permeate the entire study, the paper concludes by highlighting several facts indicating the spiritual continuity of certain shaykhs of the Muradiyya Tekke in Istanbul on the Mesudiya Tek- ke in Kaćuni in the present day. This research note aims to contribute to further studies on the life ofthe Bosnian-Herzegovinian Naqshbandi pir Shaykh Huseyin Baba Zukić and the Huseyini branch.
