Summary/Abstract: Teamwork skills, participation in negotiations, steering dialogue and disputes are special communicative skills that can be developed as early as in school. In the long term, young people with such skills will become the foundation for building a more cohesive and active civil society. In the article we attempt to create a set of rules (for conducting discussions and working in student teams) that will ensure a positive outcome in a dispute or negotiation, namely – bringing viewpoints closer and/or reaching an agreement on a given issue. The theoretical framework is based on the critical debate presented in the pragma-dialectical approach of Eemeren-Grootendorst, as well as on some negotiation tactics used in integrative negotiations. The object of research is the rules and tactics, and the subject is their applicability and potential to be adapted for use by students in discussions, teamwork, and team interactions. The methods used are analysis, synthesis, observation, comparison, ranking, systematization, and experience research. The goal is to create several sets of rules for use by students; the task is to make these rules clear, logically and rhetorically sound, and easy to learn and apply. The text has a theoretical-review and scientific-practical character we apply an interdisciplinary approach, combining knowledge and methods from rhetorics, pragma-dialectics, and negotiation theory.
