Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the neo-Kresy discourse proposed by the prose writer, essayist, translator and academic lecturer Leszek Szaruga (born Aleksander Wirpsza). The approach to the reinterpretation of the Kresy proposed by Szaruga is compared with the concept of the Kresy proposed by Bolesław Hadaczka and Jacek Kolbuszewski. The author‘s historical, cultural, and literary essays on the Kresy region have been analyzed. The researcher advocates for abandoning the deeply rooted Polish-centric approach in Kresy studies. This allows for the discovery of the multicultural character of this region. The author emphasizes that the Kresy region, besides the territorial aspect, also has an anthropological aspect, which is the experience of the people.
