Summary/Abstract: Digitalization and the application of artificial intelligence in the power system represent key steps for the modernization and construction of smart grids that enable safer, more efficient and more sustainable energy management. The motives of this research arose from the need to respond to the increasing complexity of power grids, increased consumption and integration of renewable energy sources. The aim of the research is to increase the efficiency and security of the system, reduce losses in transmission and distribution and more precisely balance production and consumption in real time. Modern digital technologies such as smart meters, SCADA systems, etc. were used. The results showed that the management of the power system has been significantly improved, faster fault diagnostics have been enabled, losses have been reduced and supply reliability has been increased. The significance of the above results extends through economic, environmental and social significance, thus laying the foundations for the development of smart grids and power systems of the future.
