Summary/Abstract: The accelerated digitalization of the global economy and the increasingly stringent requirements of the European Union market necessitate that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina modernize their operations and adapt to contemporary trends. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the level of digital transformation within the SME sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with particular emphasis on identifying obstacles in this process, especially after the pandemic, which marked a turning point in business practices. The paper is based on a review of available literature, as well as data from domestic and international institutions engaged in the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and the digitalization of the business environment. Although awareness of the importance of digital transformation is becoming increasingly evident, analyses indicate that most SMEs in Bosnia and Herzegovina are still in the early stages of this process, with limited capacities and resources for its comprehensive implementation.
