Summary/Abstract: Bookplate, once a utility label used to mark the ownership of the volume, has lost its original function to become a collector’s graphic, produced for competitions and exhibitions, and rarely pasted into books. The popularity of these little works of art is undoubtedly growing thanks to competitions. In Poland, at least a dozen international competitions has already taken place; however, although such events are being organised almost continuously, three of them, held in Malbork, Ostrów Wielkopolski and Gliwice, have become an inherent part of the calendar of events. To analyse their reception among their participants, an anonymous online survey available in four language versions (Polish, English, Russian and German) was conducted and 205 answers have been provided by respondents from 34 countries. An analysis of the survey proved that Poland is an important organiser of this kind of events.
