Remarks on two burials in the cemetery of the Sfânta Vineri church from the Royal Court of Târgoviște

Summary/Abstract: Systematic archaeological research at the Royal Court in Târgoviște has included the necropolis of the “Sfânta Vineri” church in the field of investigation. Both older and more recent excavations have revealed the presence in this cemetery of graves with richer grave goods specific to the medieval elite, and also some graves with poorer or even non existent inventory. In this study, we analyse M.7 and M.45, two graves from the 2021 archaeological season, distinguished by their unique funerary inventory and by complex bioarchaeological issues.
