Summary/Abstract: The communication aims to publish a medieval seal, recently discovered in the southern part of the region between the Prut and the Dniester. It is characterized as follows: it is a sealing matrix made of silver-colored material, with a grip length of 23 mm and a sealing field diameter of 14 mm. In the field, the heraldic insignia appear engraved in relief, namely as a П-shaped schematic figure surmounted by a cross and completed by a star, consisting of seven-eight rays and located between the two vertical bars of the П. These are accompanied by the crescent moon and star, placed in the field, on both sides of the main figure. The composition is inscribed in a pearl-linear circle.Based on existing analogies (the seal of Pan Galeș), but also on the binary signs on the monetary issues of Stephen II, as well as the classification proposed by E. Nicolae (Nicolae 1996), we are able to state that this seal could belong to a state official, the rank of pârcălab included (an official of the princely council), as the latter was part of the princely council of Stephen II at a time when Moldova was divided into the Upper and Lower Country, following the rivalry between the two sons of Alexander I the Good – Iliaș I and Stephen II.
