Summary/Abstract: More than seventeen years ago, as well as more recently, we have mentioned, on the occasion of several syntheses concerning the discovery of hoards of so called monetary signs (referred to as “arrowheads,” “laurel leaves,” “olive leaves”, or “grain kernels”), some very brief information regarding the number of component items, the conditions, the contexts, and related aspects. Where possible, the categories of signs were also specified. All these discoveries are part of the significant number of hoards of monetary signs currently known in Dobruja, far better represented compared with the situation observed, for instance, some thirty years ago (at Sinoe and Vadu). The main cause for the better understanding of the phenomenon of monetary signs lies in the complete publication of these hoards or, at least, in their reporting in the specialized literature.
