Summary/Abstract: The Canadian media philosopher Marshall McLuhan is best known worldwide for the sentence “The medium is the message.” This quotation has been the subject of numerous interpretations, some of them quite accurate. At the risk of oversimplification, the sentence means that the medium through which a message is conveyed is at least as important as the message itself.
