Summary/Abstract: The origins of the Grois(z) family are still shrouded in obscurity; judging by their name, they immigrated to Cluj, where they soon put down roots. The first couple mentioned is Jakab Grois (1780–1829) and Klára Mundschütz (1784–1849). Both were Roman Catholics and died in Cluj. The family most likely spoke German.
