Summary/Abstract: This research is conducted with the aim of identifying the euphemistic meaning of the nominal pronouns svašta ‘all sorts of things’ and nešto ‘something’, based on their function, semantic characteristics in combination with verbs, and their pragmatic features. An overview of the classifications of pronouns in domestic grammars and their meanings recorded in the Dictionary of the Serbo-Croatian Language is provided. The analysis of examples is carried out based on collocational and conceptual methods. Due to their generality, broad meaning (svašta), or indefiniteness (nešto), these pronouns have the potential to substitute nouns with meanings of negative semantics, socially unacceptable phenomena, and taboo fields, thereby acquiring all the properties of non-expressive euphemisms.
