BLOCKADE OF THE FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHY IN NOVI SAD FROM NOVEMBER 2024 TO FEBRUARY 2025: from the perspective of one of its participants

Summary/Abstract: The paper contains a personal account of a postgraduate student who participated in the blockade of the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad, 2024–2025. The first part of the text discusses the protests of 2017, which were the precursor to the protests of 2024/2025. The second and third parts of the paper describe the developments in the student opposition circle in Novi Sad, between 2017 and 2024. The fourth part describes the beginning of the blockade of the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad, as well as disagreements over organizational issues, due to the influence of party activists. The fifth and sixth parts describe the events of January 2025 related to the blockade of the Faculty of Philosophy, but also of the entire University of Novi Sad. The seventh part discusses the preparations and behind-the-scenes actions related to the large protest in Novi Sad on February 1. Finally, the eighth part explains how, during February 2025, the student movement managed to defend itself against takeover attempts by various party or NGO activists.
