Summary/Abstract: This study presents a spatial analysis of junior high school (SMP) distribution and educational infrastructure needs in South Nias Regency, a disadvantaged (3T) region in Indonesia. Using population projections, GIS modeling, and school facility data, the research identifies significant disparities in SMP availability between urban centers and remote inland or island districts. While urban areas like Teluk Dalam are well-served, rural districts such as Mazino and the Batu Islands face acute shortages, resulting in low enrolment and poor accessibility for students aged 13–15. To address these challenges, the study developed a WebGIS dashboard using ArcGIS Online, Survey123, and ArcGIS Hub, integrating demographic and spatial data into an interactive, user-friendly platform. The WebGIS tool enables policymakers to visualize school gaps, simulate policy interventions, and prioritize infrastructure development based on real-time data. Scenario testing and field trials with local stakeholders confirmed the platform’s value in supporting evidence-based planning. The study concludes with strategic policy recommendations, including targeted school construction, transportation improvements, teacher deployment, and adoption of WebGIS for ongoing monitoring. Despite data limitations and connectivity constraints, the platform offers a scalable and replicable model for addressing educational inequities in remote areas. It supports Indonesia’s broader goal of achieving inclusive and equitable quality education under SDG 4.
