Summary/Abstract: The article explores the potential of using late 18th-century population censuses from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth for demographic analyses focused on the functioning of Jewish families. Using materials produced by the civil–military order commissions from the Kraków Voivodeship and Wieluń Land as examples, the study discusses the limitations of these historical censuses. At the same time, it proposes methods for assessing the quality of census data and identifying subsets with more reliable registration. The practical application of this approach is demonstrated through two case studies concerning the age at marriage and the structure of Jewish households.
