Summary/Abstract: The article is a detailed report on the paper presented at the conference of the National Museum of History of Moldova, held from 24 to 25 October 2024. The work examines a small assemblage of very diverse ceramic fragments – lips, bottoms, handles and walls – from the categories of fine, semi-fine and coarse pottery, with varied decoration. These come from the settlement of the Gumelnița culture of the Bolgrad-Aldeni type, dis- covered in 1970 in the village of Colibaș, Cahul District, which was mentioned in the specialized literature, but was not proven with archaeological materials. Following the reorganization of the archaeological collections of the National Museum of History of Moldova, fragments of pottery characteristic of the Gumelnița communities of the Bolgrad-Aldeni type were rediscovered. The material found suggests the existence of a prehistoric Eneolithic community related to the population of the famous Stoicani fortress of the mid-5th millennium BC in the territory of Galați County, Romania, in the lower reaches of the Prut, given their quite close location. Thus, the settlement from Colibaș becomes a link between the two banks of the Prut and joins the six other documented settlements in the left-bank basin of the Prut River.
