Summary/Abstract: The school is considered a key institution for systematizing and scientifically substantiating the information that students receive. It guarantees that all adolescents have access to objective and complete information. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Parliament recommend the introduction of comprehensive sexuality education in schools. While the specific levels and topics vary by age, the general goal is to provide young people with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to make informed, responsible and safe choices, including on issues related to their sexual and reproductive health. The aim of our study was to investigate the opinion of school nurses on the possible involvement of midwives in the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases among students. The study was conducted online, through a survey developed in Google Formе. School nurses from Burgas district (31.20%); Stara Zagora district (38%); Yambol district (30.80%) were included. Most participants reported over 20 years of experience as school nurses (36.7%). This high share is indicative of many years of professional experience in the system, which facilitates long-term monitoring of adolescents’ health education, behavior and attitudes towards sexuality education. The need for health education regarding sexual and reproductive health is indicated by 90.60% of school medical specialists. Which requires updating and systematic provision of information programs and campaigns. According to school medical specialists, the family (96,3%); school education (60,2%); conversations with medical specialists (47,2%) are the most important factors for the formation of responsible behavior. The midwife, with her professional competence, is the appropriate health specialist to conduct the following conversations: prevention of sexually transmitted infections (72.90%); health and hygiene habits (56.10%); influence of sexually transmitted infections on the reproductive functions of men and women (50.50%); prevention of risky behavior related to the consequences of alcohol, smoking, drugs (48.60%). Conclusion: School medical specialists clearly identify sexually transmitted infections as an area with a high need for prevention and knowledge. The formation of responsible, risk-free behavior regarding the prevention of sexually transmitted infections is a complex process in which health talks with midwives are a significant factor. The inclusion of a midwife in the health education of students about sexually transmitted infections can contribute to better awareness and a healthier future for young people
