Summary/Abstract: This paper provides an overview of Italy's commitment to combating terrorism within the NATO framework, analyzing both the measures adopted at the national level and international cooperation. It traces the main regulatory and operational developments following the attacks of 11 September 2001, showing how Italy has adapted its approach to respond to global threats such as international terrorism and radicalization. The text also examines Italy's role in European institutions, NATO operations (such as Active Endeavour and Sea Guardian), the implementation of multilateral strategies, and the management of major regional crises through participation in missions like Irini in the Mediterranean. Emphasis is placed on the importance of inter-agency coordination tools, cooperation with strategic partners, and the need for constant adaptation of prevention and response strategies.
