Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the emergence of a new type of commercial company within the Bulgarian commercial law system — the company with variable capital (CVC). The characteristics and main features of the CVC are examined. In order to form the most comprehensive and objective opinion on the subject, two research methods were employed in this study: doctrinal analysis — a review of the legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria related to commercial companies and the CVC was conducted; and comparative analysis — a comparison between the CVC and other corporate structures such as the limited liability company (LLC) and the joint-stock company (JSC) was made.
