Summary/Abstract: Intimacy is here considered from the point of view of plastic art and architecture. The main aim is on 17th-century Dutch painting, continues with the cold intimacy of Hammershøi and the creations of Vallotton. It then explores the intimacy of Edward Hopper's non-places and the dreamlike intimacy of the Surrealists. The author notes that in these latter creations, intimacy, assailed by reality TV and social networks, has given way to spectacle.
