Summary/Abstract: Integrating project work into lessons as a motivational boost for learning German: The example of ZfA projects at DSD schools in Bulgaria Motivation is a fundamental condition in the life of a young person, enabling them to set goals, find ways to achieve these goals, and be a building block in the diverserange of opportunities to enrich their life – both in the learning process at school and in their private life. In my opinion, the role of the teacher plays a crucial role, especially in the school context.In my almost 40 years as a foreign language teacher, I have always tried to motivate my students through student-centered and action-oriented teaching, for example, in the form of project work, to inspire them, and to spark their interest.
