Summary/Abstract: This article addresses the topic of motivation from the perspective of learners solving a problem- and action-oriented task. Thematically, the task is vocationally oriented and addresses the motivating steps involved in preparing a presentation. The term Verfachsprachlichung des Alltags is used to illustrate the increasing need to learn a foreign language with a vocational focus. Emphasis is placed on the new Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It is used as a theoretical starting point for developing an example unit from the textbook Im Beruf neu; equally important in the article are oral strategies and various competencies, not just linguistic ones. The specific oral production, Speaking in front of an audience, is then cited from the companion volume to the CEFR.
