The need for individual soul care according to prof. Prot. Hristo Dimitrov and its relevance today

Summary/Abstract: Our father professor of late memory Christo Dimitrov (1891 – 1973) worked for decades in the Faculty of Theology in Sofia for the establishment of an enlightened clergy and church in the 20th century in Bulgaria. The second part of his textbook in Pastoral Theology deals with the department of Individual Soul Care which is largely understudied today, while its importance remains vital for the proper soul guiding and for the salvation of the human soul, if the shepherd is to achieve in his efforts to acquire it for his human sheep. The paper deals with some of the aspects of individual or personal soul care, without claiming exhaustiveness, as described by Fr. Christo Dimitrov and comments on their relevance for clergy today.
