Summary/Abstract: The clarification of the question of the participation of the bishop of Scythia Minor in the works of the First Ecumenical Council continues to be a challenge for historians,Romanians or foreigners, theologians or lay people alike. Without claiming to issue absolute sentences, the present study proposes that, following the analysis of the main historical sources that provide data on the participants in this council, namely the lists of the signatories of the decisions of the Nicaean council and the information provided by the Byzantine chroniclers in their works of church history about this council, as well as the most important and pertinent studies on this subject so far, to highlight the necessary conclusions and to put forward certain hypotheses.
