Digital Platforms – Hard Work, Sweat, and Taxes

Summary/Abstract: On November 21, 2025, a professional conference entitled Digital Platforms – Hard Work, Sweat and Taxes was held at the Faculty of Law of Charles University. The meeting offered a comprehensive view of the phenomenon of platform work, both from the perspective of labor law and from the perspective of financial law and social security law. The discussions were based, among other things, on the current Directive (EU) 2024/2831 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the improvement of working conditions in platform work, which is to be implemented into Czech and Slovak law by December 2, 2026.
