Summary/Abstract: The aims of the study presented in this article were to assess parents’ awareness of the correlation between expanding their diets, to understand the feeding and expanding methods chosen by parents, as well as the feeding accessories they choose and the factors that influence these choices. Using the collected data, experiences related to feeding newborns and infants and expanding their diets were analyzed. A phenomenological study was conducted among mothers of children aged one to five. The data obtained allowed us to explore parents’ opinions on expanding their diets from the perspective of speech development. The results indicated insufficient knowledge among mothers in this area. Each mother gave their child their first meal as a puree, and some eventually opted for the BLW method. The most frequently used accessory (indicated by every respondent) was a spoon, followed by bowls and plates. Parents’ opinions suggest that the specificity of accessories and their implications for the feeding process and child’s development are not the primary determinants of their purchases. Most mothers assess the market for supplementary feeding gadgets as vast; they had negative, neutral, or positive attitudes toward them.
