Summary/Abstract: In its apologetic charge, “Dogmatic Armory” corresponds to the works of our significant writers John the Exarch, and with Presbyter Cosmas, author of “Discourse Against the Bogomils”. Although they lived in the 10th century, Evtimii Zigavin was not familiar with their books. The connection between them is due to the fact that both John the Exarch and Presbyter Cosmas, as well as Evtimii Zigavin, used compilations or verbatim identical Byzantine sources, created in response to the dualistic heresies that entered Bulgaria through Byzantium. Thus, Evtimii Zigavin, Bulgarian and Byzantine apologetic literature form a single literary stronghold, they define a spiritual boundary, giving resistance to Manichaeism, Paulicianism, and Bogomilism, which are united in their false teachings.
